Overview

Students pursuing the Biology program at Tarleton State University with the Thesis option will work directly with an advisor to design a research project that will fit the student's academic and personal needs. Similarly, degree plans for both thesis and non-thesis students are flexible and can be tailored to meet specific student interests.

Program Objectives

Provide small class sizes that will give students the benefit of individual attention from their professors.

Provide students with hands-on experience in biological techniques and instrumentation that is used by biologists throughout the world.

Students will actively engage in the research of scientific areas including Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Physiology, and Virology.

Submit online graduate admissions application

Pay a $50 non-refundable processing fee

Submit a statement of purpose of 600 words or less

A transcript evaluation must be completed by an approved agency which includes all previous academic course work, as well as a complete description of courses and overall GPA (course-by-course evaluation)

International applicants are required to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores as a part of the application process

Required of students studying on-campus, in the U.S. only: To obtain a Form I-20 for your studies at Tarleton, you must demonstrate that you have sufficient funding
