The Professional Master of Engineering program is a practice-oriented part-time graduate program designed to assist engineers and technical professionals in the development of their careers and to provide the expertise needed in the rapidly changing business, government, and industrial environments. 

About

Provide engineers and scientists with a general understanding of the U.S. legal system and key aspects of environmental law. Many engineers and scientists today find that environmental regulatory issues are components of their professional work. This course will familiarize them with the major federal environmental statutes and regulations and some of the compliance issues they may face. The topics of engineers and scientists serving as expert witnesses in lawsuits, preparation of environmental and expert reports, and how technical information is used in the courtroom will also be discussed.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • A bachelor's degree, GPA of 3.0 or better, in engineering or a closely related discipline; Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Physical Sciences from an accredited institution.
  • Courses in mathematics (Calculus I, II, III, & Differential Equations), and Thermodynamics*, Fluid Mechanics*, and Heat Transfer*. (*CHBE 301, 302, 422, 424 are equivalent).
