The knowledge and skills learned in a Social Work degree at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga are used across a wide variety of career fields, including medical social worker, hospice social worker, clinical social worker, volunteer coordinator, group home manager, and nephrology social worker, just to name a few.

With this accredited MSW degree, you should be prepared for social work licensure. Each state has guidelines for the social work licensure, and it is recommended that you review the social work licensure requirements for your state. The Association of Social Work Boards has created a map for quick review of state licensure requirements.

Key Features

The Social Work, M.S.W. program is designed to prepare students for advanced social work practice with individuals, groups and communities, and communities as they age through the life course.

Graduates of the program will be prepared for employment as social workers in numerous fields and agencies. Graduates of the program will also be able to obtain licensure as clinical social workers.

The Social Work, M.S.W. program has an Advanced Standing 36-hour program available to students who have completed a B.S.W. from a C.S.W.E.-accredited institution within the last seven years and a Traditional 60-hour program for those without a B.S.W.
