Our faculty are nationally-recognized experts in best practices for optimal student learning in mathematics and statistics. The Teaching Mathematics program of Loyola Marymount University offers hybrid classes, making it ideal for the following types of educators:

Secondary teachers, teacher leaders, or math coaches interested in a deeper understanding of mathematics (and who also desire a degree from a mathematics department)

Mathematics teachers seeking a master’s degree to acquire a salary increase

Secondary mathematics teachers who want to teach at a community college

Our curriculum is organized around teacher cohorts. The cohort approach creates a close-knit environment that caters directly to individual teachers and their needs, allowing for one-on-one faculty engagement and a unique sense of camaraderie among teachers. Each cohort completes the following courses:

Five mathematics courses that provide an in-depth exploration of K-12 mathematics and its connections to graduate level mathematics

Five education courses

Credit from other graduate programs may be transferable
