Overview
The Architecture program from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University is designed as a two-year curriculum for students with a four-year, pre-professional degree in architecture and a three-and-one-half-year curriculum for students without a pre-professional degree in architecture.
Application and Admission Requirements
It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the School of Architecture and Engineering Technology receives the completed application materials by the School of Graduate Studies deadline. If materials are not received by the deadline, the application may not be considered for admission. Admission is competitive and considered on a space-available basis.
The M.Arch application is an online process. Applicants must meet the requirements of the School of Graduate Studies at Florida A&M as well as those of the School of Architecture and Engineering Technology.

General requirements
- A completed university Graduate Application and payment of the non-refundable fee.
- An official up-to-date TRANSCRIPT of undergraduate records sent directly from all previous colleges attended and
- A 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative grade point average, covering the last 60 semester hours of undergraduate work.
- A GRE score from the verbal and quantitative sections of the aptitude test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) OR a graduate level degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- A portfolio is required of applicants who have previously studied architecture. The samples of work will not be returned.
- A résumé indicating the applicant's educational and career background,
- A letter of intent indicating the applicant's educational and career goals, and reasons for selecting the degree program at FAMU.
- Three letters of reference
- A TOEFL score of 550 or better, from foreign students, prior to admittance to the university.
