Key facts:
The School of Music at West Texas A&M University has 32 full-time resident faculty and 6 part-time adjunct members. Our faculty includes conductors, studio teachers, composers, historians, theorists, music educators, and administrators. The faculty maintains a high level of commitment to its 300 music majors and is dedicated to assisting alumni and the music community in meeting the challenges of an ever-broadening and diversifying music world.
The Master of Music (M.M.) is delivered by West Texas A&M University.
Programme Structure
Course Requirements
- Four semesters of applied strings (quartet lessons); four semesters of applied music (major instrument); four semesters of university orchestra.
- Four enrollments (one per semester) of music electives to be chosen from MUSI 6312, 6281, 5211, 6095, 6092.

- Vocal students:Total of four selections with four languages represented - German, English, Italian:- Aria from either opera or oratorio- Art songs
- Instrumental students:Two music pieces that are contrasting and demonstrate musicality and technical proficiency
- Placement test for leveling courses
- Letter of interest that discusses their performance medium and how a graduate degree in music will help achieve their professional goals. The letter of interest must be provided on your applicant portal.
