The innovative curriculum, created in partnership with academic and industry leaders, encourages the use of hands-on projects from your own workplace as practical case studies and builds to a final capstone project that will apply directly and immediately to your organization’s sustainability plans and challenges.
Learning Outcomes
- During the Sustainability Leadership - Executive EMSL program from Arizona State University, you will be armed with practical, actionable tools to become a leader who can embed sustainability throughout your organization, through four specific themes: global context, strategy, communication and leadership.
- The accelerated curriculum is designed specifically for the working professional and can be completed in one year through a combination of unique in-person experiences, including an international immersive; online course content; and a capstone project.
- The degree program, which includes focus areas in leadership, strategy, communications and global context, is uniquely powerful because it is backed by the extensive knowledge base of the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability at ASU and the institute's more than 400 sustainability scientists and scholars and a host of world-class sustainability and leadership professionals.

- Applicants must fulfill the requirements for both the Graduate College and the School of Sustainability.
- Applicants are eligible to apply to the program if they have earned a bachelor's degree, in any field, from a regionally accredited institution.
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = "A") in the last 60 hours of their first bachelor's degree program, or applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 (scale is 4.00 = "A") in an applicable master's degree program.
