Key Features

The 36-hour Communication program at University of Dayton gives you a solid grounding in research, theory, message development and analysis. You also can choose to add more depth to your degree by completing one of our certificate programs.

We currently offer graduate certificates in Strategic Public Relations and Health Communication. Both certificates are offered exclusively online.

We also offer an interdisciplinary course of study that mixes complementary disciplines such as English, business, psychology or political science with your core work in communication.

With a diverse curriculum, we provide an excellent education in the theory, history, ethics and practice of communication. This prepares students for careers and leadership in a wide variety of professions.

General requirements

Official academic records of all previously attended colleges or universities must be submitted directly from the colleges or universities to the Office of Graduate Admission Processing. Hand-carried transcripts, official copies marked Issued to Student and unofficial copies are not acceptable.
Three letters of recommendation from professors or employers.
A personal statement. This is a written statement of your educational and professional goals.
A resume or CV.
Official GRE test scores.
If you are requesting a graduate teaching assistantship, please submit a sample of academic writing such as a research paper, published paper or thesis.
