Overview

The GVSU PAS program is using CASPA (Central Application Service for Physician Assistants) for the upcoming application cycle!  CASPA is a service of the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) and has been established since 2001.  The CASPA application process is designed to simplify the PA school application process by allowing students to apply to several programs with only one application.  Currently 95% of accredited PA programs across the country use CASPA to process applications.

GRE admission requirements GRE® The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. It contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.

  • Graduate Application
  • All college transcripts – Copies of official transcripts from all institutions of higher education previously attended. 
  • Applicants must maintain an average GPA of 3.0 or higher in EACH of the following categories:
  • Prerequisite Coursework – A minimum grade of “C” (2.0) must be attained in each of GVSU’s PAS program prerequisites.
  • The following prerequisites MUST be completed prior to the application deadline:
  • Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Microbiology.
  • Five Year Course Completion. The following courses must be less than 5 years old at the time of application:
  • GRE scores: GVSU code 1258
  • Letters of Recommendation
  • Healthcare experience.
