About

The University of Georgia's Professional Master's Program in Industrial and Organizational Psychology is an innovative, two-year program designed for working professionals seeking to pursue graduate education in a collaborative, practitioner-focused format.

Overview

The professional master’s in Industrial and Organizational Psychology program at the University of Georgia is designed to meet and create demand from working professionals. First, the structure of the program is designed for working professionals who want to pursue graduate education while continuing in their career path. The structure is a combination of distance and classroom learning in an executive-style format, with Friday afternoon and Saturday scheduling.

The program is taught at the Gwinnett campus by members of the Ph.D. faculty and alumni of the program. Second, and just as important, the curriculum is designed to provide a hands-on, practice-oriented I-O master’s degree, with both Workforce Management and Leadership Development tracks. Increasingly, business experience, coupled with highly developed leadership skills, is the requisite background for senior HR roles. The masters in I-O focuses on facilitating the development of creative leaders with a flair for thinking about opportunities and challenges in different ways. Students are expected to begin graduate work in the spring semester following their admission.
