The M.A. in Teaching at Brown University aims to produce teachers with deep understanding of the social contexts of education and how they affect students, families, communities and schools.

Overview

The Teaching program offered by Brown University seeks to cultivate skills and commitments in pre-service teachers to improve student learning outcomes and promote equity in education.

Upon completion of the program and the appropriate Praxis II test(s), students are eligible for Rhode Island certification in secondary education (grades 7-12).

GRE admission requirements GRE® The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. It contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.
