Overview

The Chemistry program at University of Hawaii at Manoa aims to develop scientists able to perform independent research with moderate supervision in a subdiscipline of chemistry and to present the research results orally and in writing to an audience of peers.

The extent to which this goal is reached is assessed with the following SLO’s:

progress reports to the student’s committee
completion of 18 credits of advanced course work
presentation of background for research project and of research results in an open forum
publication of research results in peer reviewed journals.

Hold or expect to hold prior to matriculation a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university, or an equivalent degree from a recognized non-U.S. institution of higher education.

Submit a copy of the passport identification pages, or a copy of the national identification card if a passport is not available.

Submit one transcript or academic record from each institution of higher education attended, including any study abroad or exchange programs, summer programs, and non-degree work and extension programs.
