Description

Premier’s International Scholarship is awarded to students demonstrating exceptional academic achievement.

Benefits

The scholarship offers a $8,000- $12,000 amount, to help you with your studies.

Eligibility

Premier’s International Scholarships are adjudicated and awarded by the Society, and is intended for students who:

  • are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, Convention refugees, or Protected Persons living in Canada;
  • are currently enrolled at a public post-secondary institution in British Columbia as a full-time student (as defined by the institution);
  • have achieved a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA), or B, based on their most recent two semesters of study;
  • have been accepted into a future, or are actively enrolled in a current, international study or work program:
  • for a period of three months or longer (not including travel time);
  • beginning before April 30, 2026;
  • where credit(s) earned will be recognised by their home institution;
  • that is not within a country which the applicant emigrated from within the past 5 years; and
  • that is not within the United States (First Nations, Metis, and Inuk applicants excepted*);
  • have demonstrated a link between the international study or work program and their educational and/or career goals; and
  • have not previously received a Premier’s International Scholarship.

Create an account (or login if you already have one) on the Society’s online application website (SMApply).

Determine your eligibility by completing the eligibility assessment.

If you are eligible, you can proceed to complete the application form. The form can be saved and edited until it is submitted.

Upload your non-official transcripts to the site. Transcripts must clearly show:

your full name; and

the name of the post-secondary institution that issued the transcript.

Provide the name and email address for your reference. The online application system will send an email on your behalf requesting that they complete and submit a reference form.

Once you have completed the application form, uploaded your transcripts, and your reference has submitted their reference form, you must click the SUBMIT button to put your application forward for consideration.
