Finding the perfect international university and applying to become a student can be complicated, especially if you’re doing it for the first time. Different countries and different universities have different admission procedures which you need to consider when you complete your applications. This was always the way to do it. But what if you didn’t have to apply? What would an alternative way of getting into university look like, and how would it work?
What is reverse admissions?
Reverse Admissions is a new concept that flips the traditional application process, with universities applying to students instead. As a student, this empowers you to access more university options without the need for applications. You only receive acceptance offers, eliminating the possibility of rejections.
One programme that implements reverse admissions is the Match programme, which belongs to our partners at Concourse. So far, it has helped provide students with over 100,000+ university admission offers and nearly 6 billion EUR in scholarships. Each participating student received, on average, four university offers, without ever having to apply to a university.

What students have to say about reverse admissions
Isaac, a student from Colombia, recounted his experience applying to college. He shared the “agonizing” amount of time he took customizing his applications to universities he wasn’t sure he could get into simply because it was challenging to find other institutions that might be a good fit.
“I was struggling. Year 13 was the hardest workload, and then adding on college applications and having to write all these essays, putting hours and hours into making sure the essays were good, plus working on other parts of my university applications. It was very stressful.”
Issac turned to Concourse to help him in his university admissions search. “I remember the first offer I received - it felt amazing. When I got it, I called my parents, I called my grandma, I called everyone and told them that I had somewhere to go. I had a future.”
Isaac accepted his university admission offer to Forward College and began classes in August 2023.
How can students get offers from universities?
If you are in your final high school year (and have been in school for the past three consecutive years), there are three easy steps you can follow:
- Create your free profile to join the Match program. You will answer questions about what university disciplines you plan to study, where you want to study, and your interests and academic credentials. The entire process takes just under 30 minutes to complete.
- Universities send you admission and scholarship offers. Upon completion of your profile, universities review it, and if you meet their criteria, they will send you a customized and real admission offer in as little as a few weeks. The offers may include scholarships, discipline programme details, and next steps.
- You choose the university you want. After receiving the offers, you get to choose which university admission offers you’re interested in pursuing further. This allows you to get directly connected to those universities. You can express interest in multiple offers without commitment, signalling to the university your desire to receive more information.
