The aim of the Montpellier Business School’s values is to anchor all of its actions and activities in a global environment that shows responsibility towards societies, territories and individuals. 



Montpellier Business School was founded in 1897 by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Montpellier (CCI) with the visionary goal of “training economic leaders.” Today, the school is pursuing its mission to achieve higher education that is rooted in the 21st century by “training responsible, innovative and international managers.” 


Our faculty in the broadest sense is enriched by about thirty Affiliated Professors whose efforts are occur in the field of research as well as in the teaching and career development of our students. Visiting professors and post-docs from renowned national and foreign universities also teach and conduct research with our faculty. Finally, Montpellier Business School relies on strong relationships with the business world, via its major partners, who also contribute to teaching in the forms of conferences, seminars and guest lectures. More than one hundred external lecturers who are professional experts in their fields, provide in depth training on the different aspects of business.   


The role of research in Management Sciences is thus fundamental for the social and economic performances of businesses. As a result, the Groupe supports its teachers and their teachings in research, itself supported by businesses, so that the school’s students can integrate and appropriate both well-established and new scientific methods and knowledge. The sectors of research all deal with entrepreneurial performance.The teacher-researchers in the Groupe are members of Montpellier Research in Management (MRM), which groups together all the management research teams in Montpellier.


The recognized quality of the degrees awarded by Montpellier Business School is a strong asset for a first job. A total of 76.8% of students from the Master Grande École programme at Montpellier Business School (ESC Montpellier) are hired BEFORE they even graduate (average over the period 2006-2011). The figure is 75% for students from the Bachelor of International Business Administration programme.

In 2012, 94.4% of Master Grande École programme graduates from the classes of 2006 to 2010 were employed. The same is true for the Bachelor of International Business Administration programme.

Montpellier also provides the support of a student office where you can have a meeting and get information about how to get a social help. 

Housing services

 It is easy to find accommodation in Montpellier! Montpellier Business School has now its own online housing platform. You will find housing in France and overseas, either for a long term or short term period, offered by individuals, estate agencies, residences, students…  

Library services

Open Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Electronic Document Center gives users access to 5,500 recent books and 180 French and foreign journals (daily, weekly, monthly, specialized and scientific) as well as to DVDs. This collection covers all of the management disciplines taught at the school with a focus on the Group’s research areas.

ICT services

The IT equipment for educational purposes takes into account the need for each student to have a laptop computer. Three computer labs are open for self-service use Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The fixed workstations are equipped with standard office software and provide access to the library online, to databases and to secure printing.

Student Life

Campus life

Montpellier Business School is located on a lovely wooded 6-acre campus in northeast Montpellier, near the General Council of Hérault, the Jean Monnet high school and the Sanofi-Aventis Laboratories and about five kilometers (three miles) from the city center and 20 minutes from the beach. The school has two entrances and is easily accessible. It also benefits from a unified public transportation network, particularly the TRAM, which reaches the campus in 15 minutes from the Saint Roch SNCF train station: TRAM Line 3 to the “Hôtel du département” stop (opposite the entrance to the school) or the “Pilory” stop. Bus Line 7 serves the campus, passing every 15 minutes.

Sports facilities

Montpellier Business School offers students access to external sports facilities at the Jean Monnet high school located in front of the campus. In addition, the institution supports the Bureau des Sports in negotiating access to multiple facilities so that all students are able to regularly practice a variety of different sports (Volleyball, Squash, Rugby, Tennis, Golf, Soccer, Swimming, Handball, etc.).

Student clubs

A rich cultural and social life, sport and relaxation are essential to student success. Sixteen associations involved in sport, cultural, community service and exchange perform over 60 projects per year and provide at least as many opportunities for students to get involved, feel fulfilled and push their limits.
