About

History

Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv history dates back to November 8, 1833, when its establishment was supported by C.C. Uvarov, then Minister of Education, who founded the Imperial University of Saint Volodymyr with the transfer to Kyiv of the Polish Kremenets High School. The inauguration of the university was on July 15, 1834, the Memorial Day of Saint Prince Volodymyr.

The staff at the University have a broad range of formal achievements recognised, in particular with the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology, Awards from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and branches of the national academies of sciences, Orders of Merit, Orders of Saints Cyril and Methodius, awards of the honorary title of Honoured Educationalist of Ukraine and Honoured Lawyer of Ukraine, also Awards by the President of Ukraine for young academics and Awards by the Ukrainian Parliament to the most talented young scientists in basic and applied research, and scientific and technological development.

It is not so bad, depending on discipline. I like my discipline because of lecturers and my groupmates. These people are really awesome. Professors teach very interesting and answer all your questions. While studying in campus, before the war, it was lovely to come to the university, walk in the park near it.

I studied in the Institute of High Technologies instead of Faculty of Chemistry. The biggest advantage is that my "faculty" provided me with freedom in my time management. I combined studying and working. Studying at the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University allowed to get a deep knowledge in International Finance. However, the biggest problem is the lack of practically oriented knowledge.
