The University of Paderborn (German: Universität Paderborn) in Paderborn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany was founded in 1972. 15,228 students were enrolled at the university as of December 2010.
We offer 63 degree programs at bachelor and master level. Additionally, teacher education programs play an important role in Paderborn.
We emphasize interdisciplinarity, as complex scientific challenges require collaboration of complementary disciplines. One example is the close link between computer science and engineering, generating common solutions with exploitation potential and real added value in the mechanical-electrical engineering fields. Together with basic research in the natural sciences such collaborations form an essential basis for shaping the modern information society.

The University Library provides services to supportresearch, teaching and learning for all members of the University of Paderborn. It is the central provider of media and information services at the University of Paderborn. Currently, the collection comprises more than 1,7 million items, a growing number of electronic resources such as e-journals and ebooks among them.
The main campus is located at the Warburger Straße in Paderborn. Most lectures take place here. The residence halls are located at the campus or nearby.

The Paderborn student group Eurobiz works on the orientation program together with the International Office and organizes most excursions. Many of the Eurobiz members are volunteers who have studied abroad themselves or plan to stay abroad. They very much enjoy assisting the exchange students in Paderborn and organizing community undertakings. Eurobiz offers all of the following:Sporting events (soccer, volleyball, etc.), parties, and other free time activities (bbqs, etc.)
The International Student Union (ASV) is a student organization, which represents all of the international students at the University of Paderborn, no matter if they are students attending regular courses, German course participants or applicants.
The ASV team helps students with accommodation or job searches, they accompany students to the registration authorities and advise students with social issues. Furthermore, the ASV organizes sport courses and cultural events, where you can socialize with other international students.
Together with the ISIC Association and British Council IELTS, Studyportals offers you the chance to receive up to £10000 to expand your horizon and study abroad. We want to ultimately encourage you to study abroad in order to experience and explore new countries, cultures and languages.
My experience at the university of Paderborn was satsfactory in almost every manner. I learned theory and practice really good and modern facilities make it fun too.

It's a great place to study in and I had the opportunity to work with some fantastic people. Professors are well prepared and keen to help you in your journey to the master graduation. In addition the city of Padua is beautiful, full of history, art and students associations: there's always something amazing to do or visit!
