The University of Borås (UB) is a Swedish university college in the city of Borås. It was founded in 1977 and has around 13 000 students.

Student services

The University of Borås can offer students help and support in a lot of study related matters.

The University of Borås can provide support in a number of different areas. Students who want to improve their academic writing, oral presentation skills or simply need study counselling are welcome to contact us. Students with dyslexia or other functional disabilities can receive special pedagogical support. If students feel that they have been subject to unacceptable behaviour by the university staff or other students, they can turn to the Student Ombudsman. The Student Health Care includes social counsellors and a nurse.

Housing services

The University of Borås does not have a campus with student accommodation but the university cooperates with a local student accommodation agency called AB Bostäder, and informs them about admitted students.

Library services

The library is a meeting place for students, researchers, teachers and the public.

The library consists of 4 functions:
  • Collection services
  • Digital services
  • Education
  • Customer services

ICT services

Staff at the library's information points are assisting with printing problems, or if you forget your password for your user account. Students can also get help with various software applications such as Word, but also with general questions related to computers or to try to recover lost documents. All questions are welcome and we will help if possible!

Campus life

The campus is located in modern, purpose built buildings in the city centre within walking distance of local amenities such as shops, restaurants, banks, supermarkets and the main bus and train stations. Public transportation in Borås is both safe and reliable and as a result many of our students choose to live in the surrounding region and commute to the university.

Student clubs

The Student Union in Borås is a student-run organisation which offers advice, activities and other services for students. All students can become a member by paying a membership fee. The membership gives you a student card which grants you many discounts. Some of the student union activities are only open for members.

University of Borås is one of the better universities in Sweden. The teachers are very engaged and it's very clear in every course what the goals are and what the teachers expect us to have achieved in the end of every course. My overall study experience has been terrific.
