Jönköping University conducts research in a focused and international environment. Each school has its own designated focus areas and research activities.The focus areas at Jönköping International Business School are entrepreneurship, ownership and renewal. The School of Education and Communication examines the conditions for education and communication. The School of Engineering provides technical expertise and know-how to small- and medium-sized enterprises. The School of Health and Welfare addresses health, care and social work from a unique holistic perspective.

Student services

We offer you help and guidance in different matters related to your studies. In particular we assist you with issues related to registration, change of address, certificate of registration and the pick-up of exams.Regarding questions on examination and re-examination (for instance, problems to sign up for an exam) please contact the Examination Group.

Housing services

Admitted students will receive a link to apply for accommodation.

  • Double or single room accommodation off-campus. The kitchens and bathrooms are shared with other students.
  • Housing alternatives include bed, bed quilt, pillow, wardrobe, access to laundry-room and kitchen including fridge. Fixed utility cost (electricity and water included). Some kitchen utilities may be left to use by previous students

Library services

The University Library provides an inspiring setting which is conducive to studying. It offers high-quality collections in printed and electronic form. Information services are available on location as well as over the internet, and the seminar rooms are open 24 hours a day.

ICT services

Each school has its own computer facilities for students, accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, wireless internet access is also available on campus.

Medical services

Student Health Care is available free of charge to students during their entire period of study. At Student Health Care you can meet a counsellor, nurse or student chaplain if you need someone to talk to.

Student Life

Campus life

The modern campus with all four schools, the University Library and the Students' House is situated right in the centre of Jönköping, close to everything that the city has to offer. Jönköping is one Sweden's ten largest cities and is also one of the most beautifully situated at the juncture of three sprawling lakes.

Sports facilities

Jönköping Universitys new sports centre will include a multifunction hall, an activity centre and a gym. The sports centre will be located next to the School of Health Sciences, and is expected to be completed in November 2013. The centre together with the terrace and the bridge will link the north and south parts of the campus.

The modern campus offers a variety of services, including the library, health care, career centre, computer labs, cafés and restaurants.

Student clubs

The Jönköping Student Union is run by students, for students. The union safeguards the students interests in many areas of student life and at the university. To guarantee an active student union, and to ensure student influence at Jönköping University, the university has decided that membership in Jönköping Student Union shall be mandatory for all students at the university. The membership fee varies and is determined by the form of study.

University staff is good but admission staff is never understand financial problem of sudent. I told our sorrow story that i have only one source of income my mother but she has death and now she left me alone. i have no financial sources how can i pay fees for 2nd semester fees. I email many time to admission department and even dean of univeristy but nobody understand...

The university provides a student friendly environment, that being said the support for non EU (fee paying students) is absolute bogus. If the course has started and if the student gets stuck in his/her home country due to the delay in visa processing by Swedish migration agency, the uni will not help or provide any support. Be aware of this issue before applying.

A school that made me feel like they care much more about how they look than what they actually are… The staff is hard to contact. The lectures are not relevant or outdated and most of the time disorganized. It was the first time for me to see a lecturer that doesn’t know anything about the lecture he or she is giving. Sometimes it felt like somebody took random...
