The master programme in Applied Economics and Data Analysis from Jönköping University gives you theoretical and financial tools, and builds on your previous knowledge in the subject. The basic semester includes microeconomics, macroeconomics, mathematics and econometrics. The next semester consists of current topics in economics, for example environmental economics or transport economics. During that semester, you have the opportunity to apply theories and practical tools to real situations at companies and organisations.
The programme also offers courses in programming and machine learning which give you an opportunity to improve your data processing and technical skills. In addition, there is a 10-week internship where you can try out your future profession.
In this programme a 10-week internship is a compulsory course. This internship can be done anywhere in the world and is a great opportunity to further explore your understanding for how you can apply economic theories and tools to real-world problems.
After graduation, you have the skills to work closely with decision makers, process and analyse large amounts of data, and present an analysis of your data to leaders. Future workplaces can be national or international companies, public organisations, aid organisations and organisations such as the UN, the EU and the OECD. Possible professions include data analysts, strategists, and business developers.
