Overview
The Occupational Therapy programme offered by Jönköping University begins with a course in scientific theory and scientific method. In this course, you will start developing a plan for your future master's thesis, which will be completed during the programme. Later, you will take courses that focus on occupation and health, social and ecological sustainability, occupational therapy and science, health promotion and community development, and evidence-based practice in occupational therapy. Most of the time, you are given the opportunity to tailor parts of your education by, for example, choosing a specific target group, and formulate your research questions based on interest.
As a student, you gain valuable knowledge that you can use to critically and systematically integrate the theory and evidence into occupational therapy. You learn to analyse, assess and handle complex phenomena, problems and situations.
After Graduation
Your degree makes you qualified to work in home health care, private practice, social care, health care and hospitals, research, in rehabilitation companies, and government sectors. After graduation, you are also qualified to start a research career by applying for doctoral studies.
