About
History
The first step in the history of Aarhus University was taken in hired premises on 11 September 1928, when “University Studies in Jutland” was inaugurated with 64 students enrolled. The combined staff consisted of one professor and four senior associate professors. In 2018, the entire Aarhus University had approximately 38,000 students and 8,000 members of staff (full-time equivalent).
Education
With more than half of its 40,000 students enrolled at Master’s or PhD level, Aarhus University is a graduate university. Today more than 12 per cent of our students are international. Among our students more than 120 nationalities are represented.

Housing services
Student Housing Aarhus is not part of the university. It is an independent organisation from where most halls of residences are distributed.
In Aarhus you don't live on campus. The residences are situated all over the Aarhus area – also in the outskirts, but always with public busses nearby. In all residences you have to cook and clean for yourself, and doing the laundry etc. is also your own responsibility. Only a few residences provide furniture so be aware of this when you are applying for a room. If you choose an unfurnished room, you need to furnish your room after arrival.
Library services
Located in the northwest end of the University Park, The State and University Library provide scientific books and articles for all the faculties at Aarhus University. At the library you’ll find reading rooms and rooms for study groups while the top floor offers areas for relaxing.

The University has a big population of students from all walks of life and experienced lecturers who are dedicated and offer a well-rounded teaching experience. The classes are flexible and cater to the needs and occupational lifestyles of both full-time and part-time students.

Danish education system is completely different from my home country. You need to have a good organization to meet all the mandatory readings, but at the same time they wont pressure you, you organize your time, you are responsible for your own learning and even going to the lectures, is all your decision. Teachers are open and most of them, super friendly. You can always...
