In the 1960’s while both the industrial and economic developments were taking off in Taiwan, there was a lack of mid-level professionals in the industries. In response to the developmental needs, Mr. Y. C. Wang and Mr. Y. Z. Wang, the founders of Formosa Plastics Group, donated the funds for the establishment of the University in December 1963 in order to strengthen the cultivation of talents.
The faculty and students are always encouraged to participate in practical researches and to provide industry-education services for the enterprises. With the development of internship opportunities, the industry-university collaboration relations are actively being built. Via the diverse channels of intern students, guidance teachers, specific research centers, the Industry-University Collaboration Center, and the Innovation and Incubation Center, we are able to achieve close cooperation with the industries and improve the quality and quantity of the research, and further contribute the research results to the industries.

Our university offers a comprehensive education in industrial design, covering everything from fundamental principles to practical internship opportunities. These programs help us gain a deeper understanding of the industrial design field and prepare us for real-world applications.
Herein, a multilayered structure deposited on a glass substrate using high-power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) for VO2 and DC reactive magnetron sputtering for TiO2/Cr/TiO2 laminates was developed. To enhance the crystallinity of VO2, rapid thermal annealing (RTA) was performed at 500°C for 3 minutes. The multilayer structure consisted of VO2/TiO2/Cr/TiO2 films, which were subjected to different RTA times at 500°C (6 and 12 minutes) to investigate the improved transmittance of thermochromic properties. Various techniques were employed to analyze the deposited multilayer structures on glass, including X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy (AFM), and UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometry. we employ four ML models to predict the properties of multilayer structures as well.
