Experiences I had as a LASU biochemistry graduate
As a biochemist who studied at Lagos State University (LASU), I had a positive but stressful experience in the biochemistry program. I enjoyed my stay in LASU. The lecturers were friendly, approachable, and highly experienced in their fields. The laboratories were highly equipped with modern tools and equipment necessary for conducting experiments and research in biochemistry. What I Really Liked 1. Friendly and experienced lecturers: The faculty members were supportive and provided valuable guidance throughout my studies. 2. Highly equipped laboratories: The labs had the necessary equipment for hands-on learning and research, enhancing my understanding of biochemistry concepts. 3. Group works and project works: There was an avenue for course mates to come together, collaborate, and "rub minds" to achieve a common result. This fostered teamwork and learning from peers. What Can Be Improved 1. More durable equipment: The department should purchase more durable equipment to minimize maintenance issues and ensure longevity. 2. Less tedious lectures and exams: Making lectures and examinations less tedious could enhance the learning experience and reduce stress. Overall Study Experience Summary My overall experience studying biochemistry at LASU was good. I appreciated the friendly lecturers, well-equipped laboratories, and opportunities for group work and collaboration.
