American Graduate School in Paris

AGS is a not-for-profit American institution of higher-learning dedicated to providing the knowledge and skills to comprehend, research and work in the field of international relations and diplomacy. Our location in Paris, hub of international relations, enables AGS to provide students access to the rich resources of Paris, France and the rest of Europe.

The American Graduate School of International Relations and Diplomacy - already going by the short acronym AGS - was registered with the French Ministry of Education on January 27th, 1994. It inaugurated its M.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy in the summer of 1994, in a classroom in the 16th district of Paris. The 5 students who made up that first class were from 5 different countries.

A unique feature of AGS is the highly personalized learning environment. Classes have between five and twenty students, allowing professors to dedicate individual attention to each one and reinforcing the interactive teaching methods of the school.

As a student, you also receive personal support from the staff throughout your experience in the program and in Paris, from assistance with financial aid and French administration, to academic counseling during your studies.

The American Graduate School in Paris provides to its students and graduates a number of career services and professional development opportunities, ranging from professional internships and networking occasions during the program to career workshops, resume-writing assistance, job ad resources and career advice and tips.
