About

History

Missouri Valley College opens on September 17th 1889 . “Old Main” was built for $40,000. Baity Hall still stands as the focal point of campus. During WWII, MVC serves as a location to train military officers. United States Navy Units V-5 and V-12 were stationed on campus in temporary buildings built by the Navy.

Education

Missouri Valley College understand that learning occurs as much outside of the classroom as it does inside the classroom. With offerings like a nursing simulation lab, on campus television and radio studios, and the Viking Learning Academy, there are numerous opportunities to experience hands on learning right here. You can also take part in the annual biology trip to Belize, obtain an internship, or study abroad if you are interested in hands on learning opportunities away from campus!

Research

Twice a year, a number of our students participate in the Student Research Symposium with submissions of original research, reviews, scholarly essays, creative writing, performance, film and original artwork. Our students may submit a proposal for one presentation, performance or poster to showcase during the symposium. During the symposium, outstanding student work is recognized with three awards for excellence in undergraduate student research.
