The Mission Statement for the Department of Residential Life is to provide quality facilities, academic support and foster persona development through diverse services, programs and activities which will result in greater opportunities for student graduation and success in the Global society.
Through these diverse services, programs and activities, the Department of Residential Life will be a major contributor toward the educational, social and emotional development of the whole student outside of the classroom. The goal of the department is to provide living and learning environment which is affordable and reliable and customer friendly. All residence halls will embrace the “Living and Learning” concept which will enhance the students appearance outside of the classroom.
The University Museum and Cultural Center (UMCC) was founded in the Spring of 2004 to collect, preserve, and celebrate the rich history of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and the Arkansas Delta. UMCC is housed in Childress Hall, formerly the John Brown Watson Memorial Library and later the student services center.
Technical Services mission is to strengthen Information Technology resources at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff which will enhance all university activities. To meet the demands of the ever-changing field of technology and to ensure the technology is always functional and the university can offer an educational experience that is fulfilling.
Our staff is committed to the concepts of wellness and prevention and to providing a quality treatment for your physical needs. Good health is an essential part of a successful educational experience.
Though the main campus is in Pine Bluff, its reach is worldwide. UAPB has an extended campus in North Little Rock and offers as well as online courses. With the addition of the Arkansas Research and Education Optical Network (ARE-ON), students can engage in information exchange with others anywhere in the world. There are also Research and Extension offices in Lonoke, Newport and Lake Village and collaborations with other colleges and universities in the State through the National Science Foundation funded STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Academy.
Out-of-class experiences and student involvement include more than 90 student organizations, an internationally renowned Vesper Choir, Marching Band, Concert Bands, Wind Symphony, nationally recognized debate team, award-winning theater department and accomplished athletic program.
To meet and carry out these functions, the department offers a strong Teacher Education Preparation Program recognized by the Arkansas Department of Education, the Arkansas Department of Higher Education and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), now its called CAEP.
