About

History

CityU has maintained continuous accreditation with the Commission since 1978, earning reaffirmation of accreditation in its last ten-year review in 2010. Members of the accreditation review visited locations in Washington State, Europe, Mexico, and Canada.

Services

Housing services

Counselors at CityU’s Counseling Center provide the support you need to address your concerns. Counselors here can address personal issues from stress, to depression, to grieving and loss. 

Library services

CityU librarians work closely with your instructors to ensure the resources you need are available to you when you need them. Resources and services include:

  • Full-text journal articles in online databases;
  • E-books;
  • A guide on how to use APA style;
  • Learning units in Blackboard designed with faculty, to help locate information needed for assignments.

Medical services

According to the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 (Public Law 101- 690), City University of Seattle provides information and notices to employees of unlawful activities and the actions the school will take against an employee who violates these prohibitions.

Campus life

City University of Seattle is committed to the safety and security of our students, faculty and staff. In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the university is dedicated to the accurate and timely dissemination of all crime statistics and security related information to our constituents.Paper copies are available upon request.

Accreditation

CityU is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, a regional accrediting body approved by the U.S. Department of Education. Regional accreditation serves as the most important means of assuring the quality of higher education through rigorous peer-review and evaluation.
