Oklahoma City University is a coeducational, urban private university located in Oklahoma City, in the Uptown district. The university is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and offers a wide variety of degrees in the liberal arts, fine arts, sciences and business.



Oklahoma City University did not start out as the fully formed institution that we know today. The early 20th century was a difficult time for a fledgling university. As a result, the school's name, its leaders, and even its location changed several times during those early years. In the face of so much instability, the university remained firmly attached to its Methodist roots as it evolved.


The university is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and offers a wide variety of degrees in the liberal arts, fine arts, sciences and business.

Housing services

On-campus living not only enhances your college experience but also makes it easier to get involved in campus life. Intramural sports, Homecoming, Greek Life, and competitive sporting events are just a few examples of the more than 60 organizations and activities available to OCU students. 

Library services

Oklahoma City University students, faculty and staff, OK-Share cardholders and courtesy card holders are allowed to check out items from Dulaney-Browne Library. Most items have a three week checkout period and can be renew four times.

ICT services

Campus Technology Services provide and support information technology resources for the university in pursuit of its goal of continued growth in academic excellence. Campus Technology Services strives to provide leadership and excellent service across campus, and in doing so, develop collaborative relationships to enhance both the teaching and learning and ancillary support environments.

Medical services

Campus Health Services is committed to providing prompt and appropriate health care. Our goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle as a means to helping students achieve their highest potential. By providing opportunities to learn health-promoting behaviors, we help our students pursue higher levels of wellness throughout their lives.

Sports facilities

Oklahoma City University sponsors 19 varsity sports programs, including men’s and women’s basketball, women’s softball, men’s baseball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s crew, men’s and women’s wrestling, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s track and field and women’s volleyball.

Student clubs

Pi Sigma Alpha is the nationally recognized honor society for the field of Political Science. Membership is open to juniors and seniors who are Political Science majors or minors who maintain a 3.2 average with their major classes as well as meet other standards set by the national organization.


Oklahoma City University and many of its academic programs are accredited by nationally recognized organizations.
