About

History

Alliant was formed in 2001 by the combination of two older institutions: the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) and United States International University (USIU).

Education

Alliant’s educational programs are designed to give students the knowledge, skills and ethical values they need to serve and lead effectively in a variety of professional settings. Alliant graduates are expected to achieve mastery of a body of knowledge and be able to apply that knowledge in professional practice in order to achieve desired and beneficial outcomes. Alliant International University prepares students for professional careers of service and leadership, and promotes the discovery and application of knowledge to improve the lives of people in diverse cultures and communities around the world.

Library services

The Hurwich Library in San Francisco Alliant’s Hurwich Library maintains a comprehensive collection of print and electronic resources in clinical psychology, forensic psychology, neuropsychology, organizational behavior, psychopharmacology, cross cultural studies and education. Additionally, library patrons can find the Law School book collection. 

Medical services

Wellness services include:

  • Yoga

  • Monthly events on campus, including blood drives, alcohol and drug awareness, personal safety.
  • Referrals to outside medical care

Student Life

Campus life

Alliant’s San Francisco campus is located on Beach Street, where it sits on the San Francisco Bay waterfront, directly across from Pier 39. San Francisco is widely accepted as the cultural capital of the West coast, and Alliant’s San Francisco campus is located in the heart of one of the nation’s most beloved cities.

The San Francisco campus occupies a beautifully renovated building, which was built in 1924 and is listed in the National Historic Register. The building is home to multiple classrooms, a student lounge, two computer labs, one video conference room, an alumni reading room, and the Hurwich Library, which hosts an extensive psychology and education collection. 

Accreditation

Alliant International University is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission, a regional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the same agency under which other prestigious California and western U.S. schools are accredited such as Stanford, USC and UCLA.
