Welcome to Residence Life at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology! Almost 1,100 students call our residence halls home while at SD Mines. We guarantee housing for all students who have graduated from high school in the past two years ( per BOR housing policies) and offer upperclass housing and apartments for all students interested in campus living. ICT services
Our Mission is to provide proactive, responsive, people-oriented technology, training, and support in the areas of computing, instructional multimedia, and networking. In partnership with faculty members and the Technology Fellows program, ITS pioneers new learning technologies to provide quality educational experiences outside the traditional classroom.
Medical services
Health services, which includes medical treatment in the student health office or at a referred service provider, are available to all students who pay the health fee at registration each semester.

Sports facilities
The brand-new SD Mines Wellness & Recreation Center offers students 34,000 square feet of new or remodeled space to enjoy, including a large fitness and workout area, bouldering wall, two-court gym, locker rooms, squash and racquetball courts, and many other new amenities.
Student clubs
The American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) student chapter aims to provide its members activities that promote the knowledge of oil and gas exploration, and to help students develop professional knowledge and ethics in preparation for careers in petroleum geology. The chapter plans activities throughout the year to foster positive relationships and engagement with the petroleum industry as well as prepare for and participate in future Imperial Barrel Award competitions.
Accreditation
The South Dakota School of Mines & Technology is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The HLC is the recognized accrediting agency for the north central states.
All SD Mines undergraduate engineering programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, which is the recognized accrediting agency for engineering. The BS program in Computer Science is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.
