About

History

The University of Minnesota, Morris makes its home on a more-than-125-year-old campus. The first buildings housed an American Indian boarding school, first administered by the Sisters of Mercy order of the Catholic Church and later by the United States Government.

Education

The University of Minnesota, Morris (UMM) provides a rigorous undergraduate liberal arts education, preparing its students to be global citizens who value and pursue intellectual growth, civic engagement, intercultural competence, and environmental stewardship.

Research

A hallmark of superior undergraduate institutions is the opportunity to expand the body of knowledge in a field by participating in scholarly research or creative activity. Morris provides numerous opportunities for students to make such contributions on campus, within the larger university, and beyond our borders. Faculty from all disciplines are pleased to discuss research and creative opportunities with students, as are students’ advisers.
