History
In 1941, the nation was slowly recovering from the Depression of the 1930s. The shadow of war was creeping closer, and the need for arms and ammunition by the Allied forces demanded skilled craftsmen. Many citizens had benefited from the federal work programs during the Depression but needed more training to qualify for better jobs.
Education
The Primary mission of the Academic Standards Office at UVU is to promote students’ academic success and to assist those experiencing academic difficulty. The work of the Academic Standards Office is to assist students in discovering and accessing the personal or college resources that will allow them to reach their full potential. When students fall below the grade point average standard of 2.0, the programs of the Academic Standards Office are intended to bring them back on course toward academic success and graduation.
Research
The majority of research at CRFS involves UVU students mentored by UVU faculty. CRFS encourages a variety of research, scholarly, and creative activities linked to the Colorado Plateau.

The University of Aosta and its sorroundings
The University of Valle d'Aosta is a small yet remarkable institution, where a strong sense of community creates close and meaningful connections between students and professors. Surrounded by stunning alpine landscapes, it offers a truly inspiring setting for academic growth. The professors are highly skilled and dedicated, providing excellent support and guidance throughout the learning journey. The university also places great emphasis on international mobility, offering students countless opportunities to expand their horizons. For example, I had the privilege of spending my second academic year at the Université Savoie Mont-Blanc in Chambéry. Currently, during the first semester of my third year, I am participating in an Erasmus program at the University of Bern. In the second semester, I will undertake an international internship. These experiences reflect the university’s strong commitment to fostering global engagement and preparing its students for a connected and dynamic world.
Recommend UVU
I would recommend UVU as a whole. The issues that I had were involving a specific professor ignoring students in an online class. When complained about it, almost nothing got done. I liked that they had advanced standing, that they did this program hybrid so I could work the days I didn't have class.
UNIVERSITY LIFE
I got to learn with great people who also shared the same passion I had for architecture. It was very motivating and inspiring, making me only want to push harder.

The Residential Community Leadership Program or RCL Program is a unique residence life program that works specifically to engage students in off-campus housing.This program offers a full housing scholarship to those accepted into the program.

- Online students have access to digital books and articles through the OneSearch database on the Library’s homepage.
- Online eBooks and Streaming Videos may be searched separately, which may be particularly helpful for students unable to visit the Library.
- UVU students may check out books at all other Utah higher education libraries with an official UVU student ID card.
Medical services
The University provides various basic medical services, testing, and procedures for students on campus. No insurance is required.
Campus life
Utah Valley University and Brigham Young University's campuses are only five miles apart, so UVU students get to live in a true "college town" environment. The Provo/Orem area is the hot spot for those looking for the college lifestyle.
Sports facilities
The University provides opportunities to participate in a wide variety of individual and team sports at various levels of competitions. Activities include leagues, tournaments, open play hours, contests, courts, turf field use, and more.
Student clubs
UVU Clubs, a branch of UVUSA, works with 100+ active clubs facilitating club success on campus. Many clubs are very active on campus and have received local, state, and national recognitions.
