Galway is a great student city
University of Galway is a relatively small campus, so getting around is easy. There are good options for food that are reasonably priced with multiple canteens and coffee shops located around campus. There is definitely an issue with parking and it is difficult to find a space at busy hours of the day. There is a wide range of societies with something for everyone's interest.
