The origin of Seoul National University dates back to the late nineteenth century when Korean Emperor Gojong established modern higher education institutions which later became part of SNU. In 1895 Emperor Gojong issued Imperial Order 49 and established the Legal Training School as the first modern higher education institution in Korea. It turned out 209 graduates including the Martyr Yi Jun.

Career Counseling Division offers various counseling programs to help students to make their effective career plans and explore students’ personalities and career interests through a couple of standardized tests as well as mentoring programs that enable students to network with alumni in the their respective interest fields.
Career Development Center (CDC) Project Mentoring Program: Students are given the opportunity to meet and have interviews with alumni mentors working in their respective interest field and work on actual projects related to the job. My overall experience was very good. The teaching methods were simple and easy to understand. The teachers were supportive and helped in clearing doubts. I really liked the practical learning approach. However, there is some scope for improvement in providing more hands-on practice and better time management. Overall, it was a positive and useful learning experience

The University provides students and faculty members with high-speed Internet and online administrative services. Most of the online services are offered by the University Computer Center located in Building 102 on the Gwanak campus. SNU has many computer labs which can be freely used by SNU students. All the computers provide high-speed Internet access and are programmed with Windows.
The health team at SNUHSC facility includes physicians, registered nurses, and a counselor and is equipped with a laboratory, radiology services, a pharmacy, and support staff. This center offers a wide range of services for students, faculty, and staff at Seoul National University.
The SNU Gwanak Campus is not at a walking distance from the Seoul National University station. But there is no need to worry, as there is a free shuttle bus that runs from the campus (Administration Building) to the subway station. Another operates between the campus and Sillim-dong (Nokdu Street), an area well known for housing students preparing for national examination. If you have a 9:00 am morning class, you should plan to arrive early at the shuttle bus stop otherwise you will find yourself waiting in a long line, although the shuttle bus arrives quite frequently.
The POSCO Sports Center is equipped with an Olympic-scale swimming pool, weight room, golf ranges,, squash/racquetball courts and multipurpose fitness rooms. Wide-ranging instructional courts, as well as shower booths and sauna facilities are available.+ Other sports, fitness, and health facilities are located around the SNU Campus
SISA (SNU International Students Association) officially represents all the foreign students at Seoul National University.
SNU Business School was given full accreditation by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) in September 2002.
