Mainz University of Applied Sciences is a young university. It has been independent since 1996 and has been identified in its logo as a "University of Applied Sciences" since 1999. But the origins go all the way back to 1757, the year in which the elector of Mainz decided to found an academy of painting and sculpture.
In our three schools of Design, Engineering and Business, we offer a solid foundation of knowledge for optimum professional development - with a wide range of specialization options and scope for interdisciplinary cooperation. We maintain excellent contacts within the regional economy and to public institutions and are networked with more than 500 companies in the Rhine-Main metropolitan region.
International training courses and intensive practical experience in research and teaching characterize the profile of Mainz University of Applied Sciences.
Mainz University of Applied Sciences' strength lies in applied research and development. In addition, in the past years, the establishment of seven independent institutes, some of which have been in existence for more than 10 years, and other focal points of our work have set new standards in the field of applied research and development, which are implemented in collaboration with a large number of cooperation partners from scientific and research sectors, museums and industry.

Better education than job is best for good option
I am studying at a University where we have lectures with about 30 students. I really like the fact that we are not only taught theoretical knowledge, but also application-oriented knowledge. I feel better prepared for the future. Our professors are very open-minded and we work a lot with current and future topics. There are of course some lectures which can be improoved...
I would recommend this university. Because if you want to improve about everthing, you can do it here :)
