Overview
The International Business program at Mainz University of Applied Sciences covers marketing, financial reporting, business law and more, while also tackling current challenges, like leadership & organization.
The degree program allows you to specialize in your field of interest, choosing from marketing, accounting, service management or human resources, and familiarizes you with the methods of academic research in business and management.
At the same time, it broadens your knowledge: Most modules take an international perspective on the topics they discuss. Learning takes place in small international groups and includes group work and small projects. The program is taught completely in English.
Program objectives
The program aims to prepare students for challenging positions in multinational companies or in internationally operating public organizations. In particular, graduates are familiar with state-of-the-art techniques of international business and have acquired the leadership skills necessary for working in a cross-cultural business environment.
- Professional competenceStudents increase their professional competence by deepening their already existing knowledge of business issues and by adding an international dimension to the skills and tools acquired in their undergraduate business or management studies.
- Methodological expertiseThey expand their ability to apply quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to business-related studies.
- Social skillsStudents further improve their skills in self-management and team work, esepcially in a multicultural environment.
- Leadership skillsSkills such as communication, motivation and building trust in personal relations and organizations are cultivated.
- Language and cross-cultural management skillsA culturally diverse student group, one or two semesters spent abroad and the mandatory use of foreign languages prepare the students for the working environment encountered in multinational companies and institutions.

General requirements
- You hold a bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Management from a recognized university (three years full-time or 180 ECTS minimum) with above-average results (minimum requirement: ECTS grade C; if neither the national certificate of your first degree nor the diploma supplement provides the ECTS grade, please present a certification issued by the degree-awarding institution confirming that the average mark/grade achieved is equivalent to the ECTS grade of C or better, or to the German grade of 2.5 or better.
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Intermediate knowledge of German on the A2 level
- Advanced knowledge of a third language on the B2 level
- Explain your motivation for studying in the MA.IB program in a written letter (of about two pages)
- A list of your priorities (1-3) of (partner) universities for your stay abroad during the third semester
