CDU students will value lifelong and life-wide learning and understand that learning occurs anywhere, anytime and through varied experiences. Throughout their studies, our students will build essential skills for success in academic pursuits, their work and their lives beyond CDU.  Further, our co-design approach will also strengthen CDU processes, systems and practices required to achieve CDU-wide key targets.

Services

Student services

The Office of Student Administration and Equity Services (SAES) manages all aspects of Higher Education admissions, enrolments, examinations, progression and fees. Across the Higher Education and VET sectors, the office administers scholarships, student records, the University cashier and timetabling.

Housing services

On-campus accommodation is provided by:

  • Casuarina accommodation: Part of a network of International Houses in Australia and overseas, IHD, on Casuarina campus offers both local and international students a residential community.
  • Katherine accommodation: ) is owned and operated by Charles Darwin University (CDU) on its Katherine Rural campus and managed by International House Darwin (IHD).
  • Alice Springs accommodation: The Alice Springs Student Accommodation (ASSA) provides accommodation for CDU students, students from other universities undertaking placement, CDU staff and visiting guests, and groups.

Student Life

Campus life

  • Casuarina campus is CDU's largest study location and the main hub for Higher Education, Vocational Education and Training (VET), and Research programs. 
  • The campus is located on Larrakia country, about 15kms from Darwin's central business district and within 20kms to Palmerston city. 
  • The nearest shopping centre is a 10-minute stroll away, but you can also jump on one of the many public buses servicing our campus. We also offer free inter-campus bus services between Casuarina and CDU Waterfront, for students, during study semesters.
