Overview
Unique features of the Health Research program of the Charles Darwin University include learning from acclaimed Menzies School of Health Research professionals and supervisors in the specialist areas of Indigenous health, public health and global health.
You will acquire theoretical and practical capabilities in: epidemiology; biostatistics; quantitative and qualitative research methods. Following completion of the Master of Health Research you may proceed, with approval, to Higher Degree Research (PhD) training.
Career opportunities for graduates include the areas of health research and professional public health practice.
This course requires a high level of academic reading and writing. If you are not confident in your academic literacy skills you are encouraged to fully utilise the University's academic support services.

Successful completion of one of the following:
- a recognised bachelor degree or a graduate diploma or masters degree in a related area; or
- a recognised bachelor degree plus an honours degree or a graduate diploma or masters degree in a non-related area.
- Related areas include: public health, health science, primary health care, medicine, social science or health promotion.
- Applicants who have completed Charles Darwin University's Graduate Certificate of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control (UIDPC1) or Graduate Certificate of Epidemiology (UEPID1) are also eligible for entry.
- International Pathway: applicants who have completed the CDU International Masters Qualifying Program (ZMQP01) or the Accelerated International Masters Qualifying Program (ZAMQP1) are eligible for entry.
