About

History

IMT Atlantique is an institute of higher education and research, born through the fusion of École des Mines Nantes and Telecom Bretagne in January 2017. Research and innovation constitute one of the school’s primary missions in its fields of excellence which are digital technology, and energy and environment.

Research

Research is carried out in one of our six research laboratories linked to national research organisations (CNRS - French National Centre for Scientific Research and Inserm - French National Institute of Health and Medical Research), and is managed internally by 13 teaching and research departments. With over 800 publications per year (including 400 top tier), approximately 90 researchers and lecturers authorised to supervise research, and on average 80 theses presented each year, IMT Atlantique is ranked among the top ten engineering schools in France, when it comes to research.

Services

Housing services

  • The main campuses offer accommodation possibilities at the Student's House (MAISEL/MDE). Prices vary between 280 and 460 € depending on the type of room/studio.
  • Provide a deposit at the time of departure. Between 200 and 390 €, and possible administrative costs - about 75 €.
  • Housing subsidies may be granted by CAF. Students usually receive about 170 € per month.

Medical services

Complementary Health Care

  • It supplements social security reimbursements by 30% to 40%. There are complements from 60 € at SMEBA and LMDE.

IMT Atlantique - Graduate Engineering School has 4 campuses:

  • Brest - a dynamic student city

Brest has over 24,000 students in a population of 200,000 people. That's one of the highest ratios in France. 

  • Nantes Campus

Nantes is situated approximately 50 km from the Atlantic coast. It is the sixth largest city in France.

  • Rennes Campus
  • Toulouse Campus

Toulouse, the fourth largest city in France, has 440,000 inhabitants and 94,000 students. With three universities and many Grandes Écoles and research centres, it is student life that flavours the "Ville Rose" (the "pink city", after the pinkish stone used in much of its construction).

I f one is looking for a course rigorous in engineering technology, this is not a course you should look forward to. This is a management cum engineering science course which covers a lot of subject, but on an overview basis rather than detailed insights in subjects pertaining to both energy and environment
