History

IMT Atlantique results from the merging between Mines-Nantes and Télécom Bretagne, both Elite Graduate Engineering Schools. They merged on January 01st, 2017. IMT Atlantique is a member of IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom), the number 1 group of Engineering and Management Graduate Schools in France.

IMT Atlantique has strong relationships with the industries and Reseach Centers. All the programs includes some Project Management classes and internships in company or lab. Students will benefit from IMT Atlantique industrial and research network to boost their professional careers.

Services

Student services

The associative life is coordinated by the student association. A student's office is elected every year on the Brest and Nantes campuses.

IMT Atlantiques campuses also offer some dedicated offices for international students' needs (help for administrative issues).

Housing services

The 3 main campuses offer housing possibilities at the student's residences. Prices vary between 280 and 460 € depending on the type of room / studio.

Provide a deposit returned upon departure. Between 200 and 390 €, and possible administrative costs - about 75 €.

Housing subsidies can be awarded by CAF . Students usually receive about € 170 per month.

Medical services

It supplements social security reimbursements by 30 to 40%. There are supplements from € 60 at SMEBA and LMDE .

Campus life

IMT Atlantique has campuses in 3 cities:

  • Brest: located on the extreme West part of France (Brittany) and one of the main maritime port in France. Brest campus is located on seaside and is considered as one of the most beautiful in Europe.
  • Nantes: France’s sixth-largest city. It is renowned for its dynamism on economic, technology and cultural aspects, and has been awarded several prizes for its quality of life. Nantes lies just 50 km from the Atlantic coast; Paris is 2 hours away by high-speed train.
  • Rennes: main city in Brittany region and one of the main students’ citites in France. The city center has a very rich historic asset from Middle Ages.
