The degree empowers students to enact the Marianist Charism by providing program evaluation to meet community-identified needs and foster a culture of excellence. The program specializes in culturally responsive evaluation, equipping students for impactful roles in the pursuit of the common good.

Key facts

The Master of Science in Program Evaluation strengthens students’ knowledge of advanced concepts in applied statistics, instrument development and measurement, qualitative methods and grant writing. Students are prepared for doctoral studies and careers that lie at the intersection of race, class, gender and program evaluation, ensuring that evaluations are equitable, inclusive and sensitive to the diverse context of population.

Students benefit from collaborating with the Office of Community-Based Research (CBR), an affiliate of the Center for Culturally Responsive Evaluation and Assessment at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Through CBR, students can work on federal grants and with local nonprofits to expand their evaluation capacity. Opportunities for scholarship, including academic conference submissions and journal manuscripts, are also available.
