Overview

The dissertation must be based on work of a sufficiently advanced nature performed by the student during the course, and should produce results that are publishable in the mainstream scientific literature. The work should demonstrate that through the project, you have gained experience in Food Science research and are able to set up a research problem, plan experiments and/or observations, present and analyse data and draw logical conclusions from the results obtained. Programme Structure

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

Identify, analyse, evaluate and synthesize relevant evidence-based published material from diverse sources and settings, including systematic reviews.

Demonstrate an understanding of the main methodologies and theories pertaining to your selected subject area,

Describe and critically review existing models as well as develop and employ new models, frameworks or recommendations that can contribute to your findings and the interpretation of your chosen subject area.

the degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) obtained with at least Second Class (Honours) from the Faculty of Health Sciences in an area of study which should be directly related to the area in which the research is to be carried out or

a Bachelor's degree obtained with at least a Second Class (Honours) in a discipline deemed by the Board as being closely related to the area of study in which the research is to be carried out or

a qualification deemed by Senate, on the recommendation of the Board, to be equivalent to the qualifications listed in (a) and (b).
