The Psychology - Academic Research Concentration at California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt an excellent program for students interested in research and data analysis in key areas of psychology, or for those interested in pursuing a Ph.D.

Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or the equivalent.
Submit a statement of purpose.
Provide two letters of recommendation demonstrating academic and professional potential, with at least one from a faculty member and the other from a professional reference.
Select an area of emphasis and identify a desired thesis advisor.
Maintain a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.25 in psychology courses.
Admission is based on alignment between student and faculty research interests and faculty willingness to supervise thesis or project work.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact faculty in their area of interest prior to applying.
Conditional admission may be granted if prerequisite coursework for the chosen emphasis is missing.
