Overview

Dual degrees offer students the opportunity to complete two graduate-level degrees at the same time. It is managed by the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health Office of Academic Affairs and Student Services. In some instances, credit may be shared between the two institutions, helping students complete their degrees faster together than they would separately.

Students typically finish their concurrent degrees in four years, one year less than it would take to earn the degrees sequentially.

Students pursuing a dual degree in Juris Doctor and Public Health at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston are entered into the Customized MPH plan at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health.

Dual degree students must complete all partner program degree requirements and apply for graduation from the partner institution to be eligible for MPH degree conferral. In most cases, degree conferral for both programs must occur in the same semester.
