Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate an understanding of essential accounting, accountability and governance knowledge in an organisational context;
Critically apply essential knowledge in the discipline to accounting and business decision making;
Analyse and evaluate contemporary accounting, accountability and governance issues informed by accounting-related research, industry practices and professional guidance;
Integrate advanced accounting knowledge and analytical skills in undertaking applied research in the discipline;
Demonstrate an understanding of the three ideas underpinning finance: the time value of money; diversification; and, arbitrage;
Critically apply these three ideas to corporate financial decision-making and investment decisions, including within an international setting;
Demonstrate a critical awareness of current issues in finance which is informed by leading edge research and practices in the field; and,
Demonstrate the ability to analyse and interrogate financial information to support business recommendations.
