Australian National University awards scholarships, bursaries, tuition fee reductions and discounts that help you cover existing tuition and living costs.

Eligibility

The Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarships are open for all Australian citizens and permanent residents. Ramsay scholars will be selected on the basis of:

  • Strength of character, leadership qualities, and commitment to serve others as demonstrated by their contribution to the community, public debate or professional involvement.
  • Outstanding academic achievement, and breadth and depth of intellectual vision.
  • Commitment to advancing a richer and deeper understanding of our civilisation through studies related to its history, philosophy, legal and political systems, religious beliefs and practices, literature and languages, science and social sciences, music, art and architecture.

To apply for the scholarship, you will need to:

  • Provide evidence of Australian citizenship (or permanent residency)
  • Provide evidence that you have been accepted into one or more of the graduate programs for which you have applied. You may list up to three. If you are enrolling in a research program, you will also need to include your research proposal.
  • Provide an academic summary of your career to date (institutions and degrees obtained), including certified transcripts and awards
  • Provide a 2-page CV (including work experience, community service and leadership, and other noteworthy non-academic activities)
  • Address the selection criteria and future goals
  • Provide contact details of three referees. Your referees will only be contacted in the event you are shortlisted for interview. At least one of the referees must be able to speak about your academic ability.
