Overview
Through the Transition to Teaching Elementary Education (Online) course from Indiana Wesleyan University, you’ll graduate ready for Indiana employment, with background checks, fingerprinting, and trainings already completed. Additionally, our tuition guarantee lets you lock in your tuition cost at the beginning of your program, so you’ll never have to worry about price increases for the duration of your program.
What Will I Learn in an Elementary Education Certification Program?
Upon completion of the elementary education certification program, you’ll be equipped to describe professional, moral, and ethical behaviors grounded in related principles. You will be prepared to demonstrate knowledge of components that comprise the curriculum at the elementary level, including standards, scope and sequence, resources, approaches, methods, and strategies. Feel confident in your ability to apply factors that influence instructional planning, including the characteristics of effective lesson plans with digital and nondigital tools, to create developmentally appropriate and differentiated learning experiences. You will learn to describe the foundational elements of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and how to apply UDL guidelines to maximize learning opportunities for all students.
