Overview

The Geographical Information Management and Applications Master’s programme at University of Twente (UT)  offers more than advanced use of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for a variety of applications: it also covers the management of geo-information and spatial data infrastructures in organizations and management styles.

Since the start of the programme, GIMA has become one of the most popular and well evaluated master programs on geo-information applications and management in the Netherlands and our community keeps growing.

You will get the best from geo-information Nederland GISexperts from four universities in the Netherlands: University of Twente/ITC Enschede, TU Delft, Utrecht University and Wageningen University.

Careers

The MSc GIMA programme aims at educating students to become;

  • all-round managers of geo-information and/or
  • all-round geo-information researcher and/or
  • all-round geo-information application specialists.

It is our experience that our students find jobs very fast upon completion of the program. All-round geo-information managers, -researchers and -application specialists are in high demand in many different fields of application and the number of experts in this field is scarce, adding to the career opportunities for our graduates. A recent survey among our alumni from the last 5 years shows that 84% started their careers within 2 months after obtaining their GIMA degree.
