Overview
The Orchestral Conducting program is offered by Cleveland Institute Of Music University.Our partnership with Case Western Reserve University enables CIM students to take non-music courses and earn dual degrees, including an educational degree. Students can also choose to double major in the areas of theory, composition, eurhythmics or audio recording. Being a CIM graduate also has its perks. CIM's Orchestral Career Fellowship, a new scholarship program available to CIM alumni, offers support that empowers our graduates to win positions in major US or international orchestras. Upon completion of this course of study, fellows earn an Artist Diploma.The immersive and creative educational process at CIM empowers all of our artists to leave the Institute fully prepared for the future.When you study conducting at CIM, you receive an intensive experience with high-quality ensembles composed of CIM’s student musicians.Designed with a very small enrollment of two or three students, the conducting program gives you access to significant podium time to develop your training in this field. You’ll also have regular access to observe rehearsals with The Cleveland Orchestra and sectionals conducted by Orchestra principals.Your curriculum combines conducting studies with music history and literature, theory and analysis, ensemble and elective courses chosen in consultation with your major instructor.By the time our students graduate, they will...PERFORM, CREATE and SHARE MUSIC with technical prowess and informed, compelling artistry in the relentless quest for the highest level of excellence.EXHIBIT THE PROFESSIONAL SKILLS of the 21st-century musician through coursework, co-curricular and experiential activities.EVALUATE, REASON, and MAKE DECISIONS in your personal and professional life using BROAD-BASED KNOWLEDGE.Programme Structure

- The application fee increases to $160 at 12am on December 2.
