The Business Administration MSc programme from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam has a multidisciplinary focus. Thus, you will start by specialising in a particular business process and study this using knowledge from several disciplines. As the programme is an academic one, it provides you with rigorous academic training and acquaints you with state-of-the-art theoretical background.
Study Business Administration at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
- This is a one-year full-time programme. Upon successful completion of the course, you will have obtained specialist knowledge in the area of your specialization and you will receive an internationally recognized Master of Science degree (MSc) in Business Administration.
- You complete the programme by writing a Master’s thesis about your own research on a specific topic in the master’s specialization programme of Business Administration.
- Each specialization pays ample attention to research skills. To this end, two so-called Research Seminars are organized, in which attention is paid to academic skills, research methodology, research types relevant to the specialization etc.

General requirements
- Your previous education needs to be deemed equivalent to at least a Dutch academic Bachelor’s degree obtained at a research university (with a typical duration of 3 years).
- The Master programme Business Administration is open to motivated students with a university bachelor's degree that provides relevant knowledge in Business Administration. Also, we take into account your motivation, prior relevant work experience, and any relevant volunteering experience and/or citizenship behaviors.
- For admission to the Master Business Administration, students are required to have successfully completed courses and studied literature related to the programme and/or specialization, with at least 10 EC in Research Methods (qualitative and/or quantitative) and 5 EC in Business Administration-relevant coursework.
- You are required to indicate in the course description section of the Application Form how you meet the programme specific admission requirements.
